1) What is the 2010 Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant?
Accountants One’s 2010 Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant is a one-night amateur comedy competition open to all financial and accounting professionals in the south. Proceeds from this one-of-a kind event benefit Junior Achievement of Georgia (www.georgia.ja.org).

2) Who is Accountants One?
Accountants One is a non-franchised Accounting and Financial Recruiting Firm that takes a uniquely personal approach in bringing the right candidate together with the right client in both contract and direct hire capacity.

3) Why did Accountants One create this event?
After spending the past 37 years really getting to know the thousands of financial professionals we’ve had the pleasure of working with, Accountants One discovered that many accountants are funnier than you think! So our firm wanted to share this information with the world to dispel negative stereotypes and present a more human, accessible face for the accounting profession.

4) When and where will the event be held?
The event will take place Thursday, November 4th at 8 p.m. at the CW Midtown’s Center Stage (formerly EarthLink Live).

5) Does the event have a charitable affiliation?
Proceeds benefit Junior Achievement of Georgia, which partners with businesses and educators to bring the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential. More information about JA can be found on the website www.georgia.ja.org.

6) Will any prizes be awarded?

Of course, bragging rights of being named the funniest accountant in the south are huge. The best performer will also win the grand prize of an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Las Vegas, one of our nation’s comedy hot spots! In addition, two runners up will receive special prizes.

7) How much are tickets?
There will be no charge for the comedians. Tickets for the general public will be $25.00 each, with proceeds benefiting Junior Achievement of Georgia (www.georgia.ja.org).

8) How do I attend the show as an audience member?
So you’re not much of a comedian, but you love to laugh and agree that this event
is just too good to miss! To secure your spot in the audience, purchase your tickets through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com). Our audience has doubled in size over the past two years, so we recommend acting fast to ensure that you witness this one-of-a-kind event!

9) Where do I park for the show?
Paid parking is available in several lots surrounding and behind the Center Stage venue.

10) Who can audition for the event?

Any accounting or financial professional in the south is eligible to participate. Individuals chosen for the comedy show on Thursday, November 4th will perform a three to five minute routine at CW Midtown’s Center Stage. Final contestants will receive a complimentary “comedy boot camp” training session from an improv coach to hone their routines and prevent jokes from being duplicated.

11) When and where will the auditions be held?

Auditions will be held at the Alliance Theater on Tuesday, September 14th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

12) What preparation is required for auditions?
All you need is a one minute routine – it can be your own original material or jokes taken from your favorite comedian. Just keep it relatively clean as selected participants will be performing in front of a large audience of professionals.

13) How many contestants will be chosen to perform?
Judges will choose at least eight finalists for the show from the South.

14) What is comedy boot camp?
Finalists will receive this complimentary training session to hone their routines and prevent jokes from being duplicated. Noted local improv coach and comedian Tommy Housworth is conducting the workshop.

15) When and where will comedy boot camp be held?
Comedy Boot Camp will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010.
